About me: Profile & Personal Approach
I am a compassionate, kind, able, qualified and experienced counsellor. I am also a trained, currently non-practising midwife. I am married with three grown up children.
I work from home in Great Sutton or will travel to meet clients in their own home.
My knowledge and skills have developed through my counselling and midwifery work in the NHS and in private practice. I have more than twenty-five years experience working in a variety of settings. I am passionate about counselling and I am privileged to have successfully supported many clients through some very difficult and often complex life events.
I have an eclectic approach and I am trained in and work as an integrative counsellor. Individualised holistic care is at the core of my practice. I start from a person centred perspective and then introduce other therapeutic ‘tools’ and approaches as appropriate. Along with Person Centred Therapy, other modalities include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Situation Focused Therapy; and Existential Psychotherapy. I have a relaxed, calm, flexible and open style of working that has developed and evolved over the years. As a practitioner I am empathic, warm, honest and non judgmental. I genuinely believe in people and their capacity to change and have witnessed many individuals, with counselling support and through their own endeavours, belief and commitment, make incredible life affirming changes.
